Durban’s Moses Mabhida Soccer Stadium
With its "arch of triumph", the Moses Mabhida Stadium is a defining landmark for Durban. Similar to Sydney's Opera House or The London Eye.
The Moses Mabhida Stadium with its facilities is not only a tourist attraction in its own right, but also the centrepiece of the King's Park Sporting Precinct, which will support a wide range of sporting, commercial, cultural, retail and leisure activities.

Royal Durban Golf Club
Royal Durban Golf Club is a stroll away. An oasis of calm conveniently located in the heart of Greyville, offering players an easy-to-reach destination from Cowey’s Corner. Making it the ideal place to play a few holes during lunchtimes or to meet with clients while playing a few rounds.
Durban Country Club
For more than 80 years, Durban Country Club has taken pride in providing its members with a range of exceptional facilities and amenities. It is situated in the city of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, only 1 kilometre north of Durban’s ‘golden mile’ beachfront. Durban Country Club (DCC) offers not one but two magnificent clubhouses and highly rated courses. The course is situated across the road from the Soccer Stadium, only 5 minutes from Coweys Corner.
Windsor Golf Course
This inexpensive course is extremely popular with more than 80,000 rounds played here annually. Windsor Park is a flat, "parklike" course of 18 holes. It is located a few minutes north of Durban city centre on NMR, turning left onto Windsor just before the Umgeni River. Tuition is available and equipment can be hired. The relaxed atmosphere makes it perfect for those just starting out.
Durban’s Beach Front
The Durban city centre is a bustling business and entertainment hub situated around a busy harbour. The best way to enjoy views of the harbour and city skyline is to take a harbour cruise or eat at one of the waterfront restaurants at Wilson’s Wharf. A mile of golden beaches on the eastern edge of the city extend from the exciting uShaka Marine World near the harbour entrance all the way to the Suncoast Casino with its restaurants, cinemas and gambling halls. There are many hotels, restaurants and bars dotted along this strip to keep you entertained. These are all within 5 minutes drive of Coweys Corner.
A special treat is to enjoy sundowners at the Beach Café right on the sand at Bay of Plenty while the kids play at the excellent skate park just behind the beach. There aren’t too many cities in the world boasting world class surfing waves, and Durban is one of the best. The beaches are all protected by shark nets and watched over by professional lifeguards. A number of national and international surfing competitions and festivals take place along this magic strip of beaches and fun.
The Vodacom Durban July Handicap
With a tradition of over a century, Africa's greatest horseracing event, the Vodacom Durban July is held on the first Saturday in July. This premier Gold Circle event is a short walk away from Coweys Corner - less than 500m.
ICC
The Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) is one of Durbans biggest success story. The first Convention Centre in South Africa and attracting numerous international conferences every year. One of the main conferences is the Tourism Indaba.
To get to the ICC, you turn right from Coweys Road, down into Marriot, under the race course and into town. Left at the main lights into Old Fort Road. A couple of km’s down Old Fort Road you will see the ICC on your right hand side.
Botanical Gardens
The Durban Botanic Gardens traces its origins to colonial times, when it was founded in 1849. The gardens developed collections of sub-tropical trees, palms and orchids. The Durban Botanic Gardens remains a classic botanic gardens, reflecting the universality of the plant kingdom. It has, for over 100 years, had a fine mixed arboretum of African, Asian and American trees.
The Gardens hosts approximately 500 000 visitors per year, many of whom are foreign tourists.
In more recent years it has become more well know for its popular concerts.
Florida Road
Florida Road is a popular entertainment area. With numerous pubs and restaurants. It is less than 5 minutes away by car. You travel along Cowey Road, until a T-Junction. There you turn left and first right. A Taxi would cost about R30.
